 Ms Shannon Hays Senora Hays is in her 10th year of teaching and her 8th year at PRHS.
Her love for other cultures began as a high school exchange student to Sydney, Australia. Following high school graduation, she lived in Denia, Spain for a year as a Rotary exchange
student. Upon returning home from Spain, she continued to study Spanish at the University of Kentucky where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Foreign Language Education. As an undergraduate at U.K., she studied in Morelia, Mexico. She concluded her Masters Degree by participating in U.K.’s KIIS program for Spanish educators in Segovia. All of these experiences have enhanced her love of the Hispanic language, culture, and led to subsequent travels to Spain, Mexico, and South America. She completed her specialist degree in 2010 from LMU.
Senora Hays is a marathon runner and feels it is important to be a positive role model for a healthy lifestyle. She has qualified for the prestigious Boston Marathon for three years and has completed 45 marathons in 39 states in her quest to be the youngest female to run a sub four hour marathon in each state. |
