During the Summer break, Peachtree Ridge High School will be open in the front office from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The building will be closed on Fridays between June 14 and July 19.

Curriculum Office – Student Schedules

The curriculum office will be open during the summer to answer questions about student’s schedules. Families are encouraged to visit the Curriculum Office page for specific dates and time the office will be open. We will mail out student course requests on July 12th to provide families another opportunity to review their child’s course selection prior to picking up their final schedule on August 5th during PRIDE orientation.

Visit the AP pages on the College Board site for everything you need to know! As a reminder, students MUST have a College Board account and know either their AP number or their student ID number to retrieve scores.

Air Conditioning is coming!

The welcomed addition of air conditioning will become a reality this summer in the main gym, auxiliary gym, and wrestling room. This renovation will keep these three areas closed the entire summer. We look forward to cooler air in the fall. The practice and game field will also be closed this summer during the turf rehabilitation program. Since our fields are used extensively during the year, time to repair is vital. We thank you in advance for your support.

At Peachtree Ridge we are implementing a new system to be able to notify you quickly and directly (via text) in urgent, emergency, or time sensitive situations such as school closings, delayed openings due to weather, lockdowns, emergency evacuations, and other activities that might modify our school day. In order for you to be included in this (optional and additional) method of communication, two things will need to happen:

1. We need up to 2 cell phone numbers (if you haven’t already supplied it to us in the last couple of weeks). Please enter the requested information. You will need to know your child’s student number to fill out the form. We need mobile phone numbers (not your home phone!)

2. In the next few days, you will receive and will need to respond to a text which will saying something like:

“Peachtree Ridge HS messages. Reply Y for aprx 3 msgs/mo. Txt HELP 4 info. Msg&data rates may apply. Visit schoolmessenger.com/tm”

If you wish to have your number registered to receive these texts, all you have to do is respond with “Y” or “YES” or “SUBSCRIBE” or “OPTIN” or “OPT IN”. (It is not case sensitive)

You can ignore this message and do nothing – and/or you can delete it. No action will be taken.

If you do NOT respond – and then later change your mind, all is not lost. You can subscribe to this service any time by texting any of those values above to the short code 68453. Likewise, you can also unsubscribe to this service anytime you would like by texting STOP to the same short code.

Peachtree Ridge does not charge anything for this service, nor does School Messenger (the system we use to deliver these messages.) Parent Portal Access to your child’s grades!

Parents – Would you like to have 24-7 access to your child(ren)’s grades? Sign up for the Parent Portal! Fill our the registration form and bring it up to the school with a picture ID. After your information has been entered into the system, you will receive a “token” (identification number) for your child via email from the County Office. It will be from a Go2 address (The Go2 Parent Portal!) . In that email will be a unique ID for the student and the instructions to set up your own account and assign yourself a password. If you have multiple children in the County, you will have one Parent Portal account (under the same email address) and you will have access to all of your children there. Print a receipt of payment and complete the parking application. Submit the completed application to Mrs. Clausen in B107.

School Nutrition Trivia Contest

Would you like to win free movie tickets and a concessions gift card valued at $10? Every month, the School Nutrition Program holds a trivia contest based on the Farm To School initiative. With the purchase of every meal, a student can fill out one of the entry blanks at any register in the cafeteria, drop the entry in the bucket, and be eligible for the prize drawing at the end of each month. The lucky winner of the drawing will receive two Regal Cinema movie tickets and a Concessions Gift Card worth $10. Students may enter as often as they wish, one entry for each meal purchased. Congratulations to Jordyn Stone who correctly answered April’s nutrition trivia question and was selected as the winner! The question was: Football player Lynn Swann took lessons in what activity to help with his flexibility and coordination? and the correct answer was C – Ballet. Jordyn has won Movie Tickets (2) & a Concession Stand Gift Card.
